Who we are
SmartMe is a company specialized in the design and implementation of hardware and software systems based on Internet of Things Open Source technologies for the management and care of complex environments in industry, agriculture 4.0 and smart cities.
We can provide the best solutions for Smart Metering, Devices and Fleet Management, Monitoring, Crowdsensing, Anomaly Detection, Preventive Maintenance, and Smart Environment systems for all those realities (public administrations, utilities, companies) which need to connect, intelligent, efficient and secure complex environments such as production facilities, agricultural production sites, urban areas, airports, railway stations, hospitals, public transport networks, critical infrastructure, shopping malls, museum areas, football stadiums and more.
Why smartme
We were born in 2017 as a spin-off of the Engineering Department of the University of Messina, and we are proud to have made SmartMe a digital innovation company, formed nowadays by more than 30 people. It operates throughout Europe and collaborates with universities and research centres around the world.
Our headquarters overlooks the Strait of Messina and we wanted Messina to be, with its initials ME, part of our name, precisely because this territory is part of our DNA. The Strait of Messina, in fact, is a place full of history and myth, and has been for centuries decisive for trade and culture throughout the Mediterranean. We believe that living and operating from here is both a privilege and a gamble for SmartMe today.
Our ME also means our idea of technology, and therefore our way of designing systems, of ensuring security and monitoring and of using Artificial Intelligence, which always puts the human being at the centre. We firmly believe that the digital transition is now the necessary step for those companies that want to be truly competitive on the market.
The contribution of SmartMe, in this scenario, wants to emphasize the importance of the human factor to make companies and cities, and therefore the life of all of us, more sustainable, safer, more respectful of the environment and human dignity.
